Occupancy Rate of Bali Hotels Reaches 70 Percent Ahead of G20 Summit

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) recorded an increasing hotel rooms occupancy, especially in Bali, ahead of the G20 Summit that will take place on November 15-16.
"It's starting to increase, especially in Nusa Dua area, but it will definitely increase more until the D-day," said PHRI secretary-general Maulana Yusran when contacted on Saturday, October 15.
Currently, the hotel occupancy rate in Bali averagely around 70 percent. In addition to the support from G20 Summit peak event, the number was obtained following the contained Covid-19 cases.
He explained that the number of foreign tourists visiting Bali reached more than 400,000 visits. The figure was higher than the foreign arrivals in 2021 which only reached around 1,000.
Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno previously said that his side had prepared 23 hotels in the areas of Jimbaran, Kuta, and Nusa Dua to welcome the G20 Summit delegations in Bali.
"The preparation at 23 hotels spread in Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, and Kuta is (already) 100 percent," said Sandiaga Uno in a Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno at Sapta Pesona Building, Central Jakarta, Monday, October 3.
He claimed that the preparation of the accommodation for the G20 Summit reached 95-100 percent. The ministry also involved in the management of the hotels in the areas to reach the occupancy rate of 80 to 100 percent.
"Not only the increasing hotel occupancy and fully booked hotel rooms, but we also hope that those who wish to travel in Bali during the the G20 event will see and choose alternative accommodation outside of Nusa Dua, such as in Kuta, Ubud, Sanur, Denpasar, Lovina, Buleleng, and East Bali," Sandiaga remarked.
