British Embassy Jakarta Closed for Queen Elizabeth II's State Funeral

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As a mark of respect, the British Embassy Jakarta is closed on Monday, September 19, the day of Queen Elizabeth II’s State Funeral. The state funeral will commence at 11:00 am London Time.
"The government has officially declared the day a national holiday across the United Kingdom. All government offices, banks and public services will be closed," British Ambassador to Indonesia Owen Jenkins said in a video caption.
The Bali Consulate will also be closed on Monday.
Buckingham Palace announced the death of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8 at the age of 96. She was the longest reigning monarch in British history. Her son ascended to the throne as Charles III, King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island.
Queen Elizabeth II's funeral will be broadcast live in 125 theaters across the UK. Parks, squares and cathedrals will also put up big screens to show the historical event.
In a statement on Saturday, the British Ministry of Culture said that the funeral services at Westminster Abbey and processions in London would also be shown live on television by the BBC, ITV and Sky. Presidents, prime ministers and royals from around the world are expected to attend.
