TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tebet Eco Park in South Jakarta officially reopens today, August 15, 2022 after closure since mid-June due to complaints of Tebet residents over trash and illegal parking issues.
This time, people are required to register via the JAKI application and show the QR code at the entrance gate to visit the city’s green space that is open from 7 a.m.
The capacity of visitors on weekdays, Monday to Friday, is also limited to 4,000 within several sessions, starting from the first session at 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
During the two-month closure, the management built new facilities including a fish pond in the middle of the park and a 60-centimeter-high broadwalk bridge, children's playground equipped with trampolines, slides, hanging ropes, and swamp mazes, as well as sports equipment such as spinning bikes.
The provincial government has also established a pet park for visitors bringing their pets for a walk.
Even though it has just opened, it seems that street vendors have begun flocking the park but were immediately directed by security guards to a designated area.
Tebet Eco Park was first opened on April 23, 2022. Covering an area of 7.3 hectares, the park was formerly known as Taman Honda.
