5 Morning Habits for Weight Loss

30 May 2022 09:46 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaA complete strategy involving diet, workouts, and lifestyle changes is necessary for weight loss. A healthy diet and exercise help to maintain weight, while lifestyle changes such as morning rituals can accelerate the process of weight loss.

Referring to Times of India, here are five morning habits as recommended by experts and backed by scientific studies to help lose weight:

  1. Wake up early

Waking up early has a number of health benefits other than helping in weight management. This means one needs to sleep early as well, so as to create a proper sleep cycle which is vital for weight loss.

Waking up early will also give enough time for other good habits such as planning workouts and preparing breakfast.

  1. Meditate

Practicing mindfulness or meditating for 10-15 minutes per day in the morning will alleviate stress and anxiety, stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, control the heart rate, and improve blood flow.

  1. Drink warm water

Drinking warm water in the morning keeps the digestive system moving which thus improves metabolism, which plays a major role in weight loss.

  1. Have a high protein breakfast

It is recommended to have a heavy protein-rich breakfast in the morning. This is because it will keep you full for a longer period, help in doing heavy workouts, and manage the weight.

  1. Workout

Working out in the morning is considered better than in the evening. Many studies also suggest people doing a weight loss program exercise on an empty stomach.
