TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Airnav Indonesia predicts 29,182 aircraft movements in Indonesian skies during the Eid homecoming or mudik period. AirNav Indonesia president director Polana Banguningsih Pramesti said that the peak of mudik will be on April 30.
"The peak of the return flow is estimated to occur on May 8, 2022," Polana said in a written statement Tempo received on Tuesday, April 26.
In addition to regular/scheduled flights, AirNav will serve 928 extra flights for airlines that have applied for slots through Indonesia Airport Slot Management (IASM), most of which will be to and from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport with 423 extra flights.
According to Polana, this year's Eid homecoming season has its own challenges for AirNav Indonesia, as this is the first since the government banned going home as a Covid-19 pandemic policy.
"Thus, the surge in air traffic is predicted to be quite significant, reaching 223 percent compared to the same period in 2021," he said.
AirNav Indonesia ensures the readiness of all compositions in flight navigation operations, to ensure the safety of air transportation. Throughout 2022, the growth of air traffic movements served by AirNav has returned to a pre-pandemic state.
