TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Metro Police appealed to the public not to hold suhoor on the road during this year's Ramadan. The activity is considered to have more negative impact than good, and is not in compliance with the capital's Covid-19 health protocols.
"We will make preemptive and preventive efforts so that people don't have suhoor on the road," Jakarta Metro Police chief Insp. Gen. Muhammad Fadil Imran said in the Tactical Floor Game meeting with 13 resort police chiefs, Thursday, March 31.
Zulpan said the police would deploy to points within the jurisdiction of the Polda Metro Jaya, both Jakarta and its agglomerations.
"Especially on protocol roads such as SCBD, Sudirman-Thamrin, Asia Africa, and Blok M," he said.
The five areas will be guarded by the Metro Police's Traffic Force, supported by the Samapta Directorate. For each municipality, the Metro Police are assigning each Resort Police to ensure there is no suhoor on the road throughout the month of Ramadan.
