Bali Airport to Welcome More International Flights

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's airport operator Angkasa Pura I announced that there would be more international flights operating in Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.
“We're very enthusiastic about the resumption of increasing international flights at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. This will add to the list of international airlines operating in Bali,” said AP I president director, Faik Fahmi, in his statement received in Jakarta on Saturday, February 26.
He explained that until February 24, the permit for five airlines had been issued, and one airline is in the process of route reactivation through the Air Transport Director of Transportation Ministry for March 2022.
The five airlines include Jetstar Asia for Singapore - Denpasar roundtrip route, Scoot for Singapore - Denpasar roundtrip route, KLM with Singapore - Denpasar roundtrip route, Garuda Indonesia with Sydney - Denpasar roundtrip route, and AirAsia for Kuala Lumpur - Denpasar roundtrip route.
Meanwhile, Jetstar with the route of Sydney - Denpasar (roundtrip) & Melbourne - Denpasar (roundtrip) is in the process of route reactivation.
Based on the inaugural flight plan data on March 4, 2022, JetStar will operate Airbus A-320 with a capacity of 180 passengers for the Singapore-Denpasar route and is expected to land at 09:55 Bali time from Singapore.
As for Garuda Indonesia's Sydney - Denpasar route, they will use Airbus A330 with the passengers' capacity of 360 and are expected to land at 14:45 local time from Sydney.
Meanwhile, Scoot Tiger Air will operate three flights in a week with the same route, Singapore-Denpasar, using Airbus A-320 that has a capacity of 108 passengers.
Next, Scoot will use Airbus A320 with the capacity of 180 passengers' seats for the Singapore - Denpasar route and expected to arrive at 18:05 from Singapore.
“Jetstar Asia and Scoot are scheduled to operate three flights in a week, and Garuda Indonesia will operate one flight in a week throughout March,” he said.
KLM for Singapore - Denpasar route, Fahmi went on, will use Boeing B777-300ER aircraft with a capacity of 408 seats. KLM is scheduled to operate two flights in a week.
AirAsia's Kuala Lumpur - Denpasar route(PP) is scheduled to operate three flights in a week with Airbus A320 with a capacity of 180 passengers.
Meanwhile, Jetstar Airways will operate three flights in a week for each of these routes: Sydney-Denpasar, and Melbourne-Denpasar, using Boeing B-788 with 335 passengers seats.
Faik Fahmi asserted AP I's commitment to continuously support the recovery of international traffic amid the pandemic under a strict health protocol and assured the operation would be in line with the prevailing regulations.
Since the re-operation of international flights in Ngurah Rai Aiport (February 1-24, 2022), the international flights' passengers traffic reached 1,784, with 51 flights movement.
In the pre-pandemic era in 2019, the international flights' traffic in Bali Airport reached 13.8 million passengers, with 73,886 international flights movement.
