TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Movie theaters in Jakarta are allowed to open under 50 percent capacity and strict health protocols, amid the implementation of level 3 public activity restriction (PPKM), as an attempt to curb the spread of Covid-19.
The moviegoers and employees of the business will have to be screened with Indonesia’s PeduliLindungi tracking app and only those who are categorized in the "green" group are allowed to enter.
Children aged 12 and below must be accompanied by parents while those aged between 6-12 years old must have a vaccination certificate of proof, at least with the first dose.
Meanwhile, restaurants, cafes, and other businesses inside theater locations are permitted to allow dine-ins but under 50 percent capacity and a 60-minute time restriction for each customer.
The Jakarta administration has extended the PPKM Level 3 for another seven days until February 21, following a spike in the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases mainly driven by the Omicron variant.
City governor Anies Baswedan encouraged the people to remain disciplined with existing health protocols and be well-informed about the prevention and handling of Covid-19 cases.
