TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Java Provincial Governor, Ridwan Kamil, called on regions to remain vigilant and calm following the re-implementation of level 3 Public Mobility Restrictions, or PPKM Level 3, in Greater Jakarta and Greater Bandung due to a significant rise of Omicron active cases.
"West Java Police Chief's instruction is also good. Raids and prosecution, while carrying masks to remind the pandemic isn't over, are resumed," said the governor in a written statement, Monday, February 7.
According to the president's instructions, he called out all regional heads to remain disciplined in implementing health protocols, particularly in mask-wearing. He also reminded them to encourage the use of PeduliLindungi and ask them to directly oversee it in crowded places.
Additionally, Ridwan Kamil urged vaccinations accelerations, particularly for elderlies. He also asked those who show none to mild symptoms to self-isolate, as the government will provide telemedicine service and medicine for free.
Furthermore, the West Java governor informed that agglomeration regions of Bogor, Depok, Bekasi, and Greater Bandung as regions with the highest active cases surge.
