Transport Ministry Only Allows 3 Airports for Foreign Travelers Entry Point

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of Transportation has issued Circular Letter No. 11/2022 to implement recent policies for returning travelers from abroad. The policies were made following the Covid-19 Task Force Chief's Circular Letter No. 4/2022 concerning Overseas Travels' Health Protocols during Covid-19 Pandemic.
"The government decided to temporarily limit foreigners entry point to the country, both direct and transit, for foreign travelers, unless those who fit the criteria," said Air Transportation Gen. Director Novie Riyanto, Sunday, February 6.
The letter which was imposed on February 3 regulates both Indonesian and foreigners entry point is only allowed in 3 airports, namely I Gusti Ngurah Rai (Bali), Hang Nadim (Batam) and Raja Haji Fisabilillah (Tanjung Pinang).
Additionally, Travelers whose purpose is not for leisure are allowed to enter from the entry gate airports, as stated in the previously imposed statute.
Novie then explained the recent policies were issued to prevent Covid-19 variant transmission and Indonesians are permitted to return as long as they are abiding by strict health protocols.
However, foreigners have to abide by several additional conditions. such as following the visa regulations, entry through travel corridor arrangement, receiving written ministerial considerations, vaccinations and displaying health insurance documents.
They also must show either accommodation reservation or payment proof for their stay.
In addition, both Indonesian and foreign travelers must attach negative PCR test results during health checks. Novie then assured officers will monitor air transport operators and passengers.
