TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil on Saturday night, Jan., 29, met at Kunstkring Monument, Paleis in Menteng, Central Jakarta, discussing the Youth 20 Summit.
Youth 20 or Y20 is a platform for youths from G20 country members to discuss, argue, and share ideas, to reach a mutual agreement about the G20 Presidency.
Indonesia is officially named as the host for Youth 20 Summit this year, which will be held in Jakarta and Bandung in July 2022.
During the meeting, Anies said that Jakarta is the most diverse city in Indonesia, which must be shown to the delegations.
"There is no other city in Indonesia that has a diversity level as high as Jakarta. [And] despite its diversity, [the people] can coexist. This is what must be shown in international events like Y20," said Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan in a written statement back in October 2021.
Meanwhile, Ridwan Kamil said that Bandung is a city that cannot be separated from historic international events, such as the Asian-African Conference in 1955.
"The Y20 Summit next year is in line with the spirit of unified diplomacy built by Bandung since the Asian-African Conference in 1955," Ridwan Kamil said also in October last year.
