TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Lion Air Group adjusts the flights of Batik Air and Wings Air that usually depart from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport. The adjustment of the operation needs to be done as the international airport will be temporarily closed for revitalization starting from January 26.
“The adjustment of Batik Air and Wings Air flights is done as a follow up from the issuance of Presidential Regulation No. 9/2022 on the facilities revitalization of National Airbase/ Halim Perdanakusuma Airport,” said the Communication Strategic of Lion Air Group, Danang Mandala Prihantoro, on Saturday, Jan. 22.
According to Danang, Lion Air Group offers two options for customers of both airlines operating through Halim Perdanakusuma airport. First, redirect the flights through Soekarno-Hatta Airport and the second is a refund.
He said that the flights that need to be adjusted will be operated to fly directly and connect to each other.
As for Wings Air, he explained, the company is coordinating with related parties to prepare alternative airports which will be adjusted with the needs of the market.
The revitalization of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport is carried out to improve land and airside facilities in order to improve flight safety, security, and comfort.
Danang said that Batik Air and Wings Air will maintain coordination with the Transportation Ministry and National Air Force, as well as other related parties to anticipate the impact of the temporary closure of Halim Perdanakusuma Airport.
