TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Health Ministry stated in its official website that starting October 2021, train passengers would no longer need to use the PeduliLindung app.
Testing results and vaccines certificates can still be identified even if passengers do not have mobile phones, checked through their nationality identification number (NIK) when buying tickets.
"We have implemented this in airports. We have even integrated the [information] in ticket," the ministry's Digital Transformation Office head, Setiaji, said via kemkes.go.id, Friday, September 25.
When traveling by train, passengers will go through validation at the time of booking tickets. Even without a phone, their vaccination statuses and PCR test results will be identified.
As of September 16, as quoted from the KAI Instagram account @kai121, train passengers must have received at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine. Long distance train passengers must also show proof that they tested negative; PCR or antigen test results. Children under the age of 12 are still not allowed to board the train.
