TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police confirmed that a worker registration certificate (STRP) remains compulsory for non-essential and non-critical sector workers during the extended emergency state of mobility restriction or PPKM Level 4. President Jokowi on Sunday announced the policy extension from July 16 until August 2, 2021.
Jakarta Traffic Police Head Sr. Come. Sambodo Purnomo Yogo said the travel requirements were also still the same. “We are waiting for the written rules from the government,” he said in Jakarta, Sunday.
The STRP policy is aimed at limiting the number of non-essential and non-critical sector employees working at offices according to the 100 percent work from home (WFH) policy.
Jakarta Police have installed 100 checkpoints since the Emergency PPKM took effect on July 3, 2021, in a bid to reduce people’s mobility in the capital and neighboring regions.
President Jokowi also announced a few adjustments to the Covid-19 restrictions. Traditional markets selling basic needs are allowed to open at 50 percent capacity until 15:00. Small businesses such as grocery stores, street vendors, hawkers, barbershops, laundromats, and vehicle workshops are also allowed to operate until 21:00.
The extended PPKM Level 4 also allowed eateries such as food stalls and street vendors with open spaces to open until 20:00. Visitors are able to dine in but at a limited time of 20 minutes.
