Covid-19 Case Surge; Jakarta Hospitals Occupancy Nearing Limit

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria on Wednesday said the occupancy rate of isolation beds and ICUs for Covid-19 patients has increased to 50 percent for the past week.
“This is a significant increase of nearly 50 percent during the past week,” said the Jakarta Deputy at City Hall on June 16.
As of June 15, the isolation facilities for Covid-19 patients are 78 percent occupied as 6,117 beds from a total of 7,861 beds were used.
Meanwhile, the same situation is also happening for ICU with 824 out of a total of 1,127 units were occupied, or about 73 percent.
The Jakarta Deputy Governor urgently called for people to limit their mobility and to not leave their homes for unnecessary activities. “We ask people to remain vigilant,” said Ahmad Riza Patria.
