TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital in Jakarta added 2,000 beds to accommodate Covid-19 patients. The hospital's coordinator, Maj. Gene. Task Ratmono, said that the number of beds is raised as there are lines of patients coming in to Wisma Atlet.

"Most of the patients are from family clusters and office clusters," said Task when confirmed on June 16.

As of Wednesday morning, Wisma Atlet's bed occupancy ratio was 73.75 percent. The hospital has a total of 7,394 beds.

Not just beds, Wisma Atlet was also assigned 350 additional health workers as well as procured more PPE and medicines to anticipate the spike in Covid-19 cases.

Sometime ago, videos and photos circulated online showing patients queuing up at Wisma Atlet Hospital's ER. Queues of Covid-19 patients were also seen at a number of referral hospitals in Jakarta.
