TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Traffic Police Director Sr. Comr. Sambodo Purnomo Yogo said his side would install more units of the electronic traffic law enforcement (E-TLE) or e-ticketing cameras on several roads of the capital city.
The addition of the cameras, he added, aimed at supporting the National Police
One of the additional ETLE cameras is a preparation to support the program of the candidate of the National Police Chief Comr. Gen. Listyo Sigit who planned to diminish switch manual ticketing into e-ticketing.
"In 2021, we will develop the program to the third stage by adding about 50 new cameras. The proposal will be submitted to the Jakarta administration as a grant for us," said Sambodo on Thursday, Jan. 21, adding that the new cameras would be installed on toll roads and Transjakarta lanes.
As of September 2020, Jakarta has 57 E-TLE cameras set on various protocol roads. Jakarta Metro Police targeted to have 105 cameras yet the plan was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the Large-Scale Social Restriction (PSBB) policy.
