TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno mentioned Bali as the possible benchmark for Indonesia's rise of tourism amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. "Bali is the backbone of Indonesia's tourism and creative economy," said Sandiaga Uno on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.
During his first visit to the 'Island of the Gods' as a state minister, Sandiaga Uno met with local business owners and conveyed his programs set in place to help boost the region's economy.
"I am pushing for programs of innovations, adaptability, and collaborations. In terms of collaboration, I need input from the champions of the creative economy," Sandiaga said. "I will study the inputs and later use them as our baseline to grow the economy."
During his visit, Sandiaga revealed a special task that was given to him by the President himself, which urged him to focus on five destinations categorized under 'super-priority' status. Sandiaga Uno argued that Bali can be the benchmark for the super-priority destinations because the region has gained international recognition compared to other regions.
