TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Perusahaan Umum Perikanan Indonesia (Perum Perindo) offers a complete business and tourism package in Buleleng, Singaraja, Bali, called 'aquaculture with aqua tourism' which can potentially garner attention of tourists and investors.

In the business sector, Perum Perindo aquaculture project consist of clustering floating net cage system meant to culture various fishes from Barramundi, Grouper, Ornamental fish, Vannamei Shrimp and Saline tilapia comprising of 178 holes in Unit 1 and the 249 holes in Unit 2.

Perum Perindo Director of Operation Raenhat Tiranto Hutabarat on Thursday, Dec 17, said the cultured fishes will be exported to countries such as the United Arab Emirates.

“Our marine-culture operation is the biggest floating net cages in Singaraja, Bali established in 2016," said Raenhat Tiranto on December 17. "The location is also very attractive due to beautiful view of hills and mountains in the surrounding area. That is why we create aquaculture with aquatourism concept.”

Starting from 2019, the floating net cages had been operated by a clustering system and production line pattern of 600, 800 and 1000, with a production capacity of 1 ton per line.

Meanwhile, in the tourism sector, Perum Perindo’s aquaculture is surrounded by tourism venues such as Gili Putih located just 200 meters away from location; Pemuteran diving area, and diving spot Menjangan Island.

“We built a café on top of the floating net cages so visitors can enjoy the scenery too,” Raenhat explains.

Aqua tourism is one of the fastest growing tourism sectors in the world along with culinary and 'edutainment.' The latter is the sector that Perum Perindo plans to focus on business-wise and packaged under the aqua tourism concept.

Perum Perindo is a state – owned enterprise in fishery business running 3 business lines : Fishing port, Aquaculture and Trading. Fishing port business line includes all activities related to port operation, such as Cold Storage, Ice Plant, Fuel Distributor, Mooring, etc.
