TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Sinovac Covid-19 Vaccine Clinical Trial Research Team of Padjajaran University, said there was no more Covid-19 vaccine injections for the phase 3 trials in Bandung, West Java. All injection phases are completed and now the clinical trial of the Covid-19 vaccine has entered the sample-reaction observation stage.
"All subjects have taken the injections. It is completed—no more shots, we just have to observe now," the team's head, Professor Kusnandi Rusmil, said in a web seminar on Tuesday, November 10.
He said that all 1,620 research subjects who had taken the vaccine shots are monitored regularly, to see how their bodies react to the vaccines and placebos.
Kusnadi reminded that Covid-19 is a disease with high rate of infection and can lead to death. "We have been in this pandemic for 10 months, millions of people have been sick worldwide and millions have died," he said.
For this reason, he emphasized that health workers must seek Covid-19 drugs and vaccines as soon as possible.
"Once it is found, we recommend immediate vaccinations so that the people are protected against the disease, and so they can live well to work for their families and their country," he said.
