TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Firefighters found two beer bottles with wicks similar to Molotov cocktails in a garage where two cars caught fire in Kayu Putih area, Pulogadung, East Jakarta. This incident happened on Thursday at dawn.
"Two sedan cars in the garage were burnt, which was caused by Molotov cocktails, two bottles of beer with wicks were found in the location," said the Head of East Jakarta Firefighter Operational Section, Gatot Sulaeman, in Jakarta.
The incident was reported by residents to the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service Office at 01:48 West Indonesian Time (WIB).
Two units of luxury cars with police number B 2238 ATI and B 2395 STM were parked in the garage of Jalan Gedung Barat 36 L RT010 RW005, Kayu Putih.
The owner of the vehicle Halim (78) and his family reportedly survived the incident.
However, material losses due to the fire incident were estimated at around Rp500 million.
After the incident was reported, four Firefighter evacuation team units were dispatched to the location. The fire was extinguished by officers around 2:20 AM.
