    TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe chairwoman of the Agency for Pancasila Ideology Education’s (BPIP) steering committee, Megawati Soekarnoputri, was absent at an event where she was scheduled to brief middle-high officials of the Coordinating Security Ministry on Monday, February 17, 2020.

    Megawati was scheduled to brief the officials on Pancasila as the philosophy and fundamental values for the nation and its people.

    “We truly apologize that the chairwoman of the BPIP’s steering committee could not attend this event,” BPIP chief Yudian Wahyudi said at Bina Karna Auditorium, Bidakara Hotel, Jakarta, Monday, February 17, 2020.

    Yudian said the event encompassed a series of panel discussions presenting as resource persons ministers under the Coordinating Security Ministry, viz. the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security affairs; the Home Affairs Minister; the Foreign Affairs Minister; the Law and Human Rights Minister; the Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Minister; and the Attorney General.

    The event will be focused on multiple issues, including Pancasila as the ideology to combat the threat of radicalism, the revitalization of Pancasila values in strengthening the development of Indonesian democracy in the 2020 regional elections, and the strengthening of national insights and the internalization of Pancasila values for Indonesians and Indonesian diasporas overseas.
