TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A former Deputy Governor of Jakarta, Sandiaga Uno, hopes that Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan already has a Deputy Governor in February 2020.
Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Gerindra Party said that the election of governor's successor had taken too long. "We hope it will be revealed in February, it will soon appoint and immediately able to take-off," said Sandiaga Uno after Gerindra Regional Working Meeting (Rakerda) in Jakarta, Sunday, January 26, 2020.
Regarding the candidate for Jakarta's Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno will hand over the decision to the Jakarta Regional Legislative Council (DPRD). "Let's make it happen soon, the citizens have been waiting and the capital tasks can be immediately handled by the elected Deputy Governor," he remarked.
Sandiaga Uno believed the two Jakarta Deputy Governor candidates, the Chairman of Central Leadership Council (DPP) Gerindra Party Ahmad Riza Patria and politician of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Nurmansjah Lubis, were able to assist Anies in carrying out the task to build the capital city.
"Both of them are masters of economics and very familiar with Jakarta, Mr. Ahmad Riza Patria has also been a candidate for deputy governor and he is an active cadre in Indonesian Youth National Committee (KNPI). As well as Nurmansjah who has a track record in finance, so he would be very helpful, " said Sandiaga Uno. He was confident that both candidates are fit Anies to lead Jakarta, especially in economic sector.
