Persija Vs Persib: Ridwan Kamil Bans `Bobotoh` to Visit Jakarta

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil agreed to the police’s demand to supporters of Bandung Football club (Persib) who commonly called bobotoh to not visit Jakarta for the live match with Jakarta Football club (Persija) in Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Stadium, today, Wednesday, July 10.
“I think the police had calculated the security level, so bobotoh Persib should follow the police’s recommendation. Don’t try to disobey it,” said Kamil in Bandung, Wednesday, July 10.
The governor admitted of feeling unrest if bobotoh coming to watch the event in the capital. “If there is anything occur such as the previous incident in GBLA (Gelora Bandung Lautan Api), all parties will be affected, either supporters, the football clubs, or the region as the organizer,” he added.
Ridwan Kamil touched on the death of Persija supporter Haringga Silirilia due to group attacks committed by bobotoh on September 23, 2018. At that time, the Indonesian Soccer Association (PSSI) discipline committee imposed sanctions to Persib and the supporters.
Previously, Jakarta Metro Police spokesperson Sr. Comr. Argo Yuwono appealed to bobotoh to refrain from coming to Jakarta for today’s football match of Liga 1 2019 which will be held at 15:30 local time.
