TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The East Java Police's special crime director Sr. Comr. Akhmad Yusep Gunawan said that based on digital forensic examination, a celebrity named Vanessa Angel was suspected to be involved in the online prostitution network.
Earlier, the police issued the investigation result, and there were nine transactions of online prostitution involving Vanessa Angel. The transactions were facilitated by six individuals acting as pimps.
“Vanessa has a role as a provider,” said Akhmad Yusep in Surabaya, Monday, January 14.
Police investigators, he added, will use the findings to determine the status of Vanessa Angel. When asked whether the celebrity could be named a suspect, Akhmad told journalists to be patient and await complete investigation's results.
As of date, the police named two pimps Endang Suhartini alias Siska and Tantri as suspects. Vanessa Angel was probed for the second time after last Saturday she was arrested in a hotel in Surabaya with a businessman with the initial of `R`.
Vanessa Angel, meanwhile, said on Monday, January 14 after the police investigation, that she would let the police and her legal team to handle the online prostitution case she was ensnared.
