TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Budi Setiyadi, Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation, asked the online taxi drivers to pay attention to their appearance to make passengers feel comfortable.
The new regulation obliges the drivers to wear shoes (instead of sandals), trouser, and to arrange their hairs. It is included in lieu of the Minister of Transportation Regulation (Permenhub) No. 108/2017 concerning the Implementation of People’s Transportation with Non-route Public Motor Vehicles.
“In the new Permenhub, [you] cannot wear sandals," he said when disseminating the new regulation in front of 1,500 online taxi drivers, in the GBK Senayan area, Jakarta, Tuesday, December 4.
According to Budi, the new regulation has been submitted to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. “We have sent it today. All will be finished this week,” he said.
