TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo recently introduced the Time Capsule Monument in Merauke, Papua, which is widely perceived to have similar traits to the logo of Marvel’s Avengers. The president added the similarity did not stop there.

President Jokowi said the monument had similar spirit and soul to the Avengers, and that both represented a greater dream that called for significant actions aimed at safeguarding people's lives—and the oppressed.

“Just like this monument, we are not just placing our dreams as a nation, but we will work hard, work together, we choose to realize that big dream,” said the seventh Indonesian president according to a written statement Tempo received today.

The Time Capsule Monument had become the location where the dreams of Indonesian children from 34 provinces are kept inside a futuristic-looking capsule. It accommodates seven dreams for the country throughout 2015-2085.

Expressions of dream kept inside the time capsule encompasses aspirations for having Indonesia’s human resources that rival and exceed those of other nations, being a hub for education, technology, and civilization, and the most self-sufficient nation in the Asia Pacific region.

President Jokowi said the dreams, frozen in a literature form, would be opened by the nation’s next generation in the year 2085 to find out if they had been realized.
