JK Highlights Ways of US and China Facing Industry Revolution 4.0

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice President Jusuf Kalla, during Economic Briefing 2018 as a keynote speaker Thursday, November 15, said industry revolution was followed by entrepreneur revolution. He considered theories proposed since old ages should be modernized.


“Previously the open economy is applied, but today it is changed. The United States known as capitalist becomes contextual, which is America First. Then, war trade occurs, or Brexit. Those are about competitiveness,” said Jusuf Kalla.


Meanwhile, China wanted an open economy. “This triggers basic changes,” said Jusuf Kalla.


Jusuf Kalla was invited as the keynote speaker during Economic Briefing 2018 held by PT Tempo Inti Media Tbk. The seminar themed Meningkatkan Daya Saing Indonesia Dengan Revolusi Industri 4.0 (increasing Indonesia’s competitiveness with Industry revolution 4.0 took place on Thursday, November 15.


Economic Briefing 2018 aimed to unite stakeholders that would talk on industry revolution.“ said Tempo president director Toriq Hadad today in Ballroom II of The Ritz Carlton in Jakarta.


“This is important because if we do not follow technology development, we will be left behind. My generation still read the newspaper, but now millennial generation read news from smartphones,” said Toriq on Thursday, November 15.


The seminar attended Industry Minister Airlangga Hartarto, Public Works Minister Hanif Dhakiri, economy observer Faisal Basri, and businessmen in Technology telecommunication said Arya Damar.
