TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani said the government is currently focusing on developing research to improve the quality of human resources. The ministry will allocate an initial budget for research endowment fund at around Rp1 trillion in 2019.
“This scheme is carried out reflecting on the success of the scholarship endowment fund managed by the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) which now manages the scholarship endowment fund of Rp55 trillion,” Sri Mulyani wrote on her Instagram account @smindrawati, Wednesday, November 14.
Based on the research conducted by the World Bank, Sri Mulyani went on, the quality of Indonesian human resources is still ranked 87th out of 157 countries. The minister said the cooperation among stakeholders in improving and developing the quality of human resources is important.
She hoped the collaboration between the government and the academic institutions as well as the private sectors will continue to be enhanced and strengthened. Sri Mulyani also explained that the development of human resources must be in line with infrastructure development.
Both are the great capital for Indonesia to become a big country in 2030.
