Growing Culinary Tour, Restaurant Taxpayers in Depok Increase

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The number of restaurants obliged to pay tax in Depok City, West Java, this year increased up to 100 percent amounted to 850 restaurants, compared to the last year`s number at 750 restaurants.
“We strive to boost Regional Income (PAD) from tax sector by updating data of taxpayers (WP),” said Endra, head of regional tax division 1 of Depok Financial Agency (BKD), in Depok, Friday, November 9.
He mentioned that throughout 2016, the total number of restaurant taxpayer recorded at 420 and rose to 750 eateries in 2017.
“Alhamdulillah, the number of restaurant taxpayer in Depok City continues to increase each year,” said Endra.
According to Endra, the hike was due to increase in taxpayer's compliance rate and growth of culinary business in the region, as well as roles of tax employees who frequently reminded restaurant, hotel, or other business place owners to pay tax.
Endra continued the city administration adopted several efforts to meet the set tax revenue from restaurants, for example, implementing self-assessment scheme in which taxpayers could report business revenue and pay the tax online.
