TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Deputy Secretary of the Jokowi-Ma'ruf National Campaign Team Raja Juli Antoni, expressed his comment on the statement made by Prabowo – Sandi spokesman Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak. Dahnil stated that vice presidential candidate Sandiaga Uno is a new part of Bung Hatta.

"This is manipulative politics. The national history is manipulated for short-term political interests. There is massive public tricking is going on," Antoni said on Thursday, October 25, 2018.

According to Antoni, Prabowo's team must read a lot of history books to understand the Indonesian figures.

"Previously, Ratna Sarumpaet is said to be modern-day Cut Nyak Dhien. Now, Sandi is compared with Bung Hatta. Read the history book, who is Bung Hatta and Cut Nyak Dhien," Antoni said.

On a video that circulated and became viral, Dahnil said that Sandiaga was a reflection of modern-day Bung Hatta. Dahnil argued that Sandiaga has lived Bung Hatta's values in the community.

"Especially about the spirit, honesty, simplicity, and the economic principles that he supported," Dahnil told Tempo when contacted by telephone on Thursday, October 25, 2018.
