TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani was disappointed by one of the ministry’s employees who was arrested along with five other people in a sting operation conducted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in Ambon, Maluku.

Sri Mulyani asserts that the tax officer's arrest will be an issue to evaluate within the Finance Ministry.

“The sting operation by the KPK actually helps us. The indication had existed prior to the arrest, the person in question was warned, I think the sting operation will help us to do an evaluation,” Minister Sri said today, Oct. 4.

She further revealed that she sent a request to the Inspector General and Director General of Taxes to evaluate the Finance Ministry’s system other than being corrected by the KPK.

“I appreciate what KPK had done upon correcting the ministry. I am of course truly disappointed by what the tax officers and his employees had done,” said Sri Mulyani who reminded the public to file a report to authorities if they are blackmailed or other illegal acts done by members of the finance ministry.
