Sri Mulyani: IMF-WB Meeting will Highly Affect Economy

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani said Indonesia would highly be benefitted by the International Monetary Fund and World Bank (IMF-World Bank) annual meeting which would take place in Nusa Dua, Bali, on October 8-14.
“From the tourism, hospitality, restaurants, entertainments, and other sectors,” said the minister through her Instagram account @smindrawati on Tuesday, September 18.
The meeting, Sri Mulyani explained, would be a great event for decision makers in the financial field, either from private or government institutions, including central bankers, ministers of finance, and parliamentarians. Approximately, 15,000 participants from 189 countries would attend the meeting.
The minister mentioned several agendas in the meeting such as studies related to urbanization that could increase the country’s capacity from low-income into a middle-income country. The Human Capital Index used as the basis of decision-making to issue policies on investment in education and health would also be launched.
According to Sri Mulyani, the result of the IMF-World Bank meeting would be a global reference for all country members of IMF and World Bank.
Sri Mulyani went on to say that IMF and World Bank would establish a flagship seminar to overlook the digital era. The seminar would discuss digital economy management, policies on employment, infrastructures, financial inclusion, and its tax issue.
