TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Regional Secretary Saefullah said that the Jakarta Administration is yet to acquire the land required to construct a shelter for Bukit Duri residents because of ownership problem. The land proposed by Bukit Duri residents to construct the sehlter was Wisma (Homestead) Ciliwung in South Jakarta.

"Based on the information we received, there is no basic right [over the land]," Saefullah said at the City Hall, Central Jakarta, Thursday, September 13, 2018.

Chairman of the Independent Ciliwung Community Sandyawan Sumardi, said that 27 landowners at Wisma Ciliwung had agreed to sell the land in accordance with the tax object's selling value.

Bukit Duri residents asked the Jakarta Administration to buy the land as a construction site for the tiered village project as the replacement of their village, which had been displaced during the era of former Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama.

Saefullah said that the Jakarta Administration could not buy the land if the ownership status is unclear. Saefullah had appealed to the landowner to clarify the ownership status of the land.

Meanwhile, the Jakarta Administration had prepared other options to solve the land acquisition issue, namely by appointing an abandoned land owned by the Ministry of Finance. Saefullah said the Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan had sent a letter to the Ministry to allow the land to be ranted to the Jakarta Administration.
