TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan set the art stage equipped with the sound system in National Monument (Monas) every Saturday and Sunday.

Asiantoro as the head of Jakarta Tourism and Cultural Agency said the stage was aimed at accommodating the public aspirations.

Pak Governor says this public area sets for art spaces,” said Asiantoro in Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Monday, September 10.

Asiantoro said the facility was afforded since yesterday, Sunday, September 10. The stage and its sound system, he added, are provided at 4 p.m until 6 p.m.

According to Asiantoro, Jakartans or artists willing to utilize the service could register themselves through Monas Technical Management Unit. He mentioned the facility was still in the trial program. “We will later review the public interest.”

The head of Monas Technical Management Unit said the stage was placed in the west side of the monument. Munjirin invited people with artistic talent to register.

"We will first curate them, then schedule for the performance show," Munjirin said, explaining the attempt of Anies Baswedan and his staffers in holding an art event every weekend at Monas.
