Children Involved in Prostitution at Kalibata City Apartment

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police revealed a prostitution practice at Kalibata City Apartment, South Jakarta, that involved children. The police`s general investigation unit arrested 32 people allegedly involved in the illegal business.
Of the 32 people, five of the sex workers were underaged. They claimed to have been employed for more than two years. “Their age is between 16-18 years,” said deputy police chief of criminal investigation unit Ade Ary Syam Indradi, Wednesday, August 8.

Jakarta Metro Police Sub-directorate of Youth, Children and Women (Renakta) at the criminal investigation unit Azhar Nugroho said the 32 people consisted of 17 sex workers and 15 male customers. The police found seven children; five sex workers and two clients.
According to Azhar, the police caught red-handed three sex workers and two clients were having sex at one of the Kalibata City Apartment units on Thursday, August 2, at around 11 p.m.
The police have determined three people as suspects of the alleged prostitution at the Kalibata City Apartment.
