TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Deputy Chief Basaria Pandjaitan said that several members of the house of representatives (DPR) from Jambi Province were allegedly to receive bribes from non-active Jambi Governor Zumi Zola.
“Initial information suggests that DPRD members were about to be handed Rp200 million each,” said Basaria at the KPK headquarters today, July 10.
According to Basaria, KPK collected enough facts and pieces of evidence to name Zumi Zola as a suspect. KPK suspects that Zumi ordered the Public Works and Public (PUPR) acting-chief executive Arfan and regional assistant Saipudin to collect the bribe money to be handed to Jambi House member to ratify Jambi’s 2018 regional budget.
During the investigation, Basaria claims that KPK collected Rp700 million from seven people that have returned the bribe money that is now confiscated by the KPK as evidence. He explained that the KPK will investigate 33 witnesses from Jambi DPRD members and Officials.
Previously, the KPK named Zumi Zola as a suspect for allegedly accepting Rp6 billion bribe money related to the permit issued for a project development in the Jambi province.
