TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - Culture, Tourism and Park of Tangerang City Service is planning to set up a tour bus that will bring travelers to enjoy various corners of the city. The buses are designed to open so that passengers freely enjoy the view.
Tangerang Mayor Arief R Wismansyah said that many big cities in Indonesia have been eyeing the city tour program using open buses. This program is indeed an interesting tourist attraction to offer.
"Moreover (for) Tangerang city, it has a complete variety of tourist spots, ranging from city parks, historical tours, religious tours and shopping," he said in Tangerang, Monday.
Several cities that have operated these open-air buses are Surakarta (Solo) and Bandung. In Jakarta, it is also available, but with a regular bus (not open).
Therefore, the government will utilize Trans Tangerang buses that are not operated to be transformed into a tour bus. The buses used to serve Tangerang-Kali Deres route and ended at Taman Anggrek.
However, because there is a regulation of the Jakarta Governor regulation that limits the route only to Kalideres, the managers object and choose to stop altogether. "We will optimize the bus into a tour bus," said Arief.
The tour bus will serve the route from Taman Potret-Taman Gajah-Kampung Bekelir-Masjid Agung-Bridge Berendeng and proceed to Masjid Raya Al-'Azhom. "Then back to the Taman Potret."
The level of visits to the city of Tangerang from year to year according to data from the Department of Culture, Tourism and Park has increased 20 percent. By 2017 there was a total of 1,088,747 visits. Then this year until May 2018 there are already 443,153 tourists who visit.
"And this will continue to grow," said Tourism Head Rizal Ridholloh.
