TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - South Sulawesi Election Supervisory Agency Suspects Organizers Involved in Voting Manipulation
SUNDAY, JULY 1 2018
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The South Sulawesi Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) suspected that some of Makassar's election organizers were involved in manipulating data to win a single candidate. Because the C1 data results changed a lot, from the voting committee to the Makassar General Election Commission (KPU).
“The Chairman of KPU Makassar is examined because the report is allegedly manipulation of votes,” said Chairman Bawaslu South Sulawesi Laode Arumahi, Saturday 30 June.
He asserted that this case must be followed up by Panwas (Supervisory Committee) Makassar as a form of clarification. Because there was a report from the PPS (Voting Committee) chairman regarding the different vote count results. "Panwas is processing the report and completing the file," Laode said.
About the existing data, he added, Bawaslu has not opened it, with the reason, there are stages that must be done according to the rules and regulations.
"We did not open it because we do not want to be influenced by the public. So if there is something that does not incompatible, please take a legal action, "said Laode.
He said the Chairman of KPU Makassar Syarif Amir was examined because of the difference between the C1 data uploaded by the KPU Makassar on the website and the community reports. Because the community also has photographic evidence held in each TPS. “The public has assessed and see the difference in number, the Panwas must be consistent to the documents held," he added.
Laode said the current public attention is on Makassar. So Bawaslu must know clearly the main problem as the person in charge. “Panwas Makassar is the last hope, all existing dynamics must be consistent with the law regulations.”
