TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Traveling to the biggest island in Indonesia, Papua, is a dream and a challenge for travelers. One of the famous tourist attractions is Raja Ampat, the world’s best place for snorkeling and the most destinated place for divers around the globe.
Before visiting Papua, there are several things travelers should know to prepare an unpredictable terrain during the trip. Here is information collected by Tempo:
1. Take Anti-Malaria Medication
Eastern Indonesia, especially Papua, is one of the areas that prone to malaria mosquitoes. To avoid the risk of getting sick from the bites, taking anti-malaria medication is one of the best ways. An anti-mosquito lotion can also be used to prevent the mosquitoes bites.
2. Time Schedule
Papua has wide areas to explore, going from one district to another takes a lot of time especially those who planned to have a road trip. A time scheduled plan is important so there will be no time to waste during the trip.
3. Unpredictable Terrain
