TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The artworks of Sunaryo that featured his opinion on social, culture, and religious issue have gained positive appreciation. The works are displayed in Wot Batu art gallery in Bukit Pakar Timur No. 98, Cimenyan, Bandung.


Local people called the place as a spiritual bridge that able to help to calm the mind. “I’ve just recently visited it and the place is indeed suitable to reduce stress,” said a book editor Febriana via a short message to Tempo on Saturday, April 21.


Wot Batu gallery is shaped uniquely asymmetric. Visitors will witness a collection of stones that are arranged and craved in different looks. The stones are displayed in a square park with the view of Bandung city.


“The place is for art and peace enthusiast,” Febriana added.


A guide named Saksi explained Wot Batu means a bridge of stone. It was said that Sunaryo made this place as a spiritual bridge for the human being. Several stones have reflected the process of life, from the birth until the death.


Wot Batu is a place for those willing to reflect themselves or seeking the serenity. In addition, the visitor is allowed to take photos. However, there are several rules applied, such as to remains calm and take the shoes off to enter the grassy park area.


A ticket to enter Wot Batu gallery is priced at Rp50,000. While special for students or artist, the ticket is Rp30,000 per person. The gallery is opened on Tuesday-Sunday.
