TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - In one point, people must have felt the up and down in a long-term relationship. Thus you begin to doubt if you are in a phase of a breakup. These are four following signs you should consider whether your relationship worth to fight for or not, as cited in Huffington Post.

1. You are hurt physically and emotionally

An author and sex therapist in New Haven, Connecticut Tammy Nelson stated if your partner pushes, pulls, or even beats you for any reason, it’s not worth to change them or fight for them. If this happens to you, you should have ended your relationship right away.

2. Your partner did not hear you

It is not a good sign if your partner did not willing or even never hear you consistently. If you and your partner could not maintain the communication or when your partner coldly responds to your feeling, it is a big barrier between you and him/her which might lead you to feel lonely, angry, depressed, or perhaps hopeless.

3. Chronic criticisms

If you often got harsh critics from your partner for everything you wear, talk, or even laugh, it means your relationship is in a downward state, as suggested by Marriage and relationship therapist and researcher Dr. John Gottman. Criticism is much more harmful than simply voicing a complaint because he/she are also attacking your character.

4. You have stopped doing what you love

The last, you should question your relationship when you stop doing what you love to do since your partner begins to the complaint or expressed his/her jealousy over those things. Marriage and family therapist Doreen Meister says a good relationship is when both people engaged in their lives are flourishing together. “If you’re starting to narrow your life, then you’re ultimately not flourishing, and the relationship won’t flourish,” says Meister.
