TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of the Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party Prabowo Subianto, declared his readiness to run in the 2019 Presidential Election, which expunges the public assumption suggesting that he might not run as a presidential candidate.

"I don't need to answer, but I will hold the mandate of every Gerindra member in Indonesia," said Prabowo in his acceptance speech at the Gerindra Party national coordination meeting at Hambalang on Tuesday, April 11, 2018.

Prabowo hinted that he will be fully prepared to run for presidential candidacy whenever he is asked to. "If the Gerindra Party orders me to run as a candidate in the upcoming presidential election, I am ready to take on that task," said the Former Commander General of the Special Forces Corps.

Present in the closed meeting was 34 of Gerindra's Regional Representatives Council (DPD) chairman and 529 branch executive board (DPC) members who voiced each of their suggestions in the event.

A number of prominent figures were present in Gerindra's meeting such as the National Mandate Party (PAN) politician Zulkifli Hasan and (PAN) Honorary Board Chairman Amien Rais, and PAN Secretary General Eddy Suparno. High ranking official from the Prosperity and Justice Party ere also present as well as Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.
