TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of the Indonesian Transportation Drivers and Online Service Association Igun Wicaksono said the online ojek (motorcycle taxi) protest will be held again on Monday, April 23.
"The demand is still the same, rationalizing the tariff and asking the House of Representatives (DPR) to revise Law No. 22/2009," said Igun on Wednesday, April 11.
The action is a response to the statement of Grab Indonesia Managing Director Ridzki Kramadibrata who said he will not raise the tariff.

According to Ridzki, the tariff raise has the potential to reduce the income of the drivers. However, Grab will make an effort to increase the income of the drivers.
Besides, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said he could not force the ride-hailing app companies to raise the tariff. Budi will not intervene in determining the tariff.
According to Igun, the massive action will be conducted simultaneously throughout Indonesia and centered in Jakarta, precisely in front of the Parliament Building (MPR/DPR building). He estimates it will be attended by 1.5 million online ojek drivers.
Igun said the online ojek drivers want to complain to the House because the government's effort was considered not maximum. They will ask the House to revise Law No. 22/2009 for online motorcycle taxis to be recognized as a two-wheeled public transportation mode.
