TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati reminded the candidates of civil servant (CPNS) selected in 2017, to continue to learn when serving in the bureaucrat's seat.

"If you aren’t learning, I can guarantee in less than five years you will not get smarter, but stupider," said Sri Mulyani in the event of Presidential Lecture for CPNS 2017 selection year at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, on Tuesday, March 27.

She mentioned by continuing to learn, they will not fall into the bureaucratic problem in Indonesia. She also stressed that they must have motivation. By becoming a bureaucrat, the main task is to serve the public at large.

"It's not about you, it's not about us, it's about others. Do not even be part of bureaucratic problems. Instead, we have to change it, " Sri said.

The CPNS are also required to prove their ability with the best performance when they become a part of the government.

Sri Mulyani said as the elected and the best people from all over Indonesia, they have an obligation to create the best service in accordance with the wishes of the community.

A total of 5,165 CPNS selection in 2017 attend at Istora Senayan. In addition to Sri Mulyani, there were also President Jokowi, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, and the founder of Go-Jek Nadien Makarim, Head of Pancasila Idealization Working Unit (UKP-PIP) Yudi Latif and several other Ministers of Work Cabinet.
