TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta city-owned bus operator PT Transjakarta launched a premium bus Royal Trans to accommodate passengers affected by the policy The odd-even policy on Jakarta - Cikampek toll road starting today, March 12 at West and East Bekasi Timur tollgate.

The policy that begins at 06:00 to 09:00 am is intended for private vehicles heading Jakarta. The company’s Public Relations Head Wibowo said Royal Trans bus capacity include 30 seats and 13 legal standees.

Wibowo explained, PT Transjakarta will operate 20 bus units and may provide more fleets to 40 units if the demand increases.

"The tariff set at Rp20,000 per passenger for one way trip," said Wibowo, Sunday, March 11. The rate is more expensive than Transjakarta in general, which is only Rp3,500 per passenger. However, as its name Royal Trans, the bus is equal to premium tourism bus.

PT Transjakarta President Director Budi Kaliwono said the forward-facing seat made from a wide foam for passenger convenience. "We also set up a 19 inch TV unit behind the driver to entertain customers," he said.

Royal Trans bus is equipped with 12 CCTV cameras to monitor every area and luggage rack that is inside and outside the bus. "USB Port for charging devices also available in every passenger seat and equipped with a bottle place," Budi added.

PT Transjakarta also operates regular buses both at West and East Bekasi tollgate following the implementation of the odd-even policy at Jakarta - Cikampek toll road. "I am optimistic that Transjakarta buses will be the solution to reduce congestion due to private vehicles," Budi remarked.
