The Democratic Party Need a Coalition, says AHY

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) closed the 2018 Democratic National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) by delivering a political speech without declaring the party's position in 2019 presidential election including names of presidential or vice presidential candidates.
On that occasion, AHY explained the party will join a coalition without mentioning which party to choose. "I realize that our party cannot walk alone, we need to work together with other parties, form a coalition, so that our struggle can be a great benefit for the good of nation and country," said AHY at Sentul International Convention Center, Bogor, West Java, Sunday, March 11.

He stated the Democratic Party look for a coalition based on a good intention. In the coalition, he added, the efforts and thoughts are not collected only to gain power but totally dedicated to the society.
Earlier, the Democrat Party Secretary-General Hinca Panjaitan declared the candidate pair would be decided by the Democratic High Council. Hinca was reluctant to detail information. "At least on August 4," he said.
AHY stated his party will not waste an opportunity should he meet suitable party so long the way to give the best for the nation and the country opens. He said the Democrats had given him a chance at his young age and invited youth generation with the capacity and capability to join him. "Democrats are ready to win the 2019 election," he remarked, greeted by Democrats cadre cheers.
