Suspect of St. Lidwinda Church Attack Inspected in Jakarta

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Head of Public Information of Police`s Human Relationship Division Comr. Martinus Sitompul said Suliyono, the suspect of St. Lidwina Church attack has been taken to Jakarta.
“Suliyono is in Jakarta for a further investigation,” stated Martinus in South Jakarta on Wednesday, February 14.
Previously, Suliyono has to go through a treatment after being paralyzed by the police during the attack at St. Lidwina Church congregation on Sunday, February 11, in Sleman Yogyakarta. Martinus was reluctant to explain when and where the investigation were taking place.

Martinus said his office has named Suliyono as a suspect in the criminal acts of assaulting and carrying sharp weapons. The police are still developing the investigation whether Suliyono involved with another criminal act or not.
National Police Chief General Tito Karnavian said there was indication Suliyono was affected by a radical doctrine until he did the attack in St. Lidwina Church. Sulyono was known trying to register a passport to Suriah for jihad and ever been to Poso.
