TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Gerindra Party politician Fadli Zon recently addressed the performance of the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti through his Twitter account @fadlizon. The Deputy Speaker questioned the Ministry’s measure of success.

“On another note, we take pride on the number of foreign fishing boats that we succeeded to sink, and the claim of a rising fish population, as if it’s how the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry measures its success. @Gerindra,” said Fadli Zon in his Twitter account on Wednesday, February 7.

A couple of hours after that tweet was published, Minister Susi Pudjiastuti responded by tweeting; “What are the measures of success that you have succeeded to do dear Pak Fadli? Please do enlighten me,” quipped Susi through her official Twitter account @susipudjiastuti.

The series of tweets that Fadli produced was actually to commemorate Gerindra Party’s tenth anniversary. Fadli’s tweets questioning the maritime affairs’ success was mentioned in his 13th and 14th tweet.

Fadli Zon’s 14th tweet highlighted about fishermen who he claims is considered to be one of the most impoverished groups in the country, which he also claims is susceptible to criminalization driven by regulations on fishing equipment.
