West Nusa Tenggara Economy Grew 0.11 Percent in 2017

TEMPO.CO , Jakarta - In 2017, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) only experienced a 0.11-percent economic growth, the local statistics agency (BPS) announced on Monday, February 5. This is far below the government’s target of 5.0 percent.
In terms of production, the highest growth occured in the financial service sector with 9.98 percent. In terms of spending, the highest growth was at the non-profit household consumption segment with 6.1 percent.
BPS chief for NTB branch Endang Tri Wahyuningsih said the province’s gross GDP in 2017 amounted to Rp123.9 trillion at current prices and Rp 94.6 trillion at constant prices.
In Q4/2017, NTB’s economy was contracted by -11,28 percent. The highest contraction was experienced by the mining sector with -26,59 persen.
